What can I say about Mr. Bill? I met Bill 13 years ago at a hospice luncheon. We became very good friends. Bill was a gourmet cook, singer and great storyteller.. He would join some of us in our homes for a meal and always bring one of his culinary delights. More than three years ago I had the task and privilege of becoming Bill's live in caregiver. He taught me many things about World War II, more than any classroom or documentary. He taught me how to cook with herbs and many different techniques. He shared his recipes.
We shared our faith of the Lord and discussed the Bible. Bill loved his family. He was very proud of his son and grandchildren, although he found it difficult to express his feeling to them. When speaking of them to others, it was always with pride, joy and love. He especially enjoyed pictures and videos of his great grands.
Bill's family have been very welcoming to me for which I am extremely grateful.
He enriched the lives of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
