William L. Shannahan Jr.'s Obituary
William Lewis Shannahan, Jr., age 77 of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2018 at Delaware Hospice in Milford. He was born on June 25, 1940 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Mr. Shannahan graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, then worked as an expeditor for The Bethlehem Steel Corporation from which he retired. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling by RV, building unique creations, and telling stories of his life experiences. He is remembered for his love of family, friends, music, and spending time near the water.
Mr. Shannahan is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Georgia Jean Shannahan. He is survived by his brother Patrick Shannahan of Street, Maryland; his two sons William L. Shannahan, III, Robert Timothy Shannahan (Marilyn Shannahan); and his daughter, Bonnie Jean Diehl (David Diehl). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Will, Ryan, Casey, Emily Rose, Gracie, Carly (Beans), Mike, Greg, and Tim; and his eight great grandchildren.
He will also be remembered by his companion, Patricia Sandy of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and her family.
