Viola D Curry's Obituary
Viola D. Curry, age 74, of Lewes, DE passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center, in Lewes, DE. She was born Thursday, February 16, 1939 in Longwood, MO, daughter of the late Joseph R. and Clara Y. (Cheney) Curry.
Ms. Curry graduated from Wichita State University in 1962 and went on to serve a 28 year career in the US Navy. During that career she served in various places including: Philadelphia, Fort Meade, Maryland, New Port, Rhode Island, Washington, D.C. and San Antonio, Texas. She would retire in 1990 as a Commander with several decorations including: the Navy Achievement Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Curry was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Lange. She is survived by her two sisters: Clara Reno of Sedalia, MO, and Virginia Smith of Wichita, KS; and by her beloved companion, Laurie Clay of Lewes, DE.
All services are private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
