V. Louise Joseph's Obituary
V. Louise Joseph,
loved by many
V. Louise Joseph, 84, made the journey to heaven in the early morning of Tuesday, June 26, 2012. A lifelong resident of Rehoboth Beach, DE, Louise will be remembered for her endearing smile, charisma, and generosity.
Louise was born on November 12, 1927 in Rehoboth Beach to Francis Asbury and Mildred (Rickards) Massey. The proprietor of Joseph’s Cottages on Rehoboth Avenue for many years, Louise was a dear friend and dependable smile to the thousands who visited her beloved Rehoboth. While a lifetime resident of Rehoboth Beach, she traveled extensively throughout the world, including frequent trips to Ireland to visit family and friends.
A woman who was full of life, her enjoyment of the sun, sand and Florida, as well as her passion for golf (Tiger Woods), tennis (Venus Williams), and basketball (Allen Iverson) will always be cherished. Louise was most devoted in her role as “Gran” to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who adore her as the epitome of what a mother and grandmother should be.
Louise was preceded in passing by her father and mother, Francis Asbury and Mildred (Rickards) Massey, respectively, as well as by her in-laws, Arthur Barnes Joseph and Margaret Webb Joseph. She is survived by her husband of nearly 65 years, William “Bill” Arthur Joseph of Rehoboth Beach; son William “B.J.” Joseph, Jr. and wife Melissa of Rehoboth Beach; daughter Dayna Joseph Quillen and husband Chris of Rehoboth Beach; grandsons Cory Clouser and wife Amanda of Annapolis, MD, Derrick Quillen of Rehoboth Beach, Kyle Joseph of Rehoboth Beach, and Lonnie Joseph of Point Magu, CA; granddaughters Danica Paul and husband Rich of Lewes, and Jaclyn Joseph of Rehoboth Beach; great-grandchildren Fiona and Piper Paul of Lewes, and Flynn Clouser of Annapolis, MD; brother Captain William “Bill” Massey and wife Myrtle of Slaughter Beach, DE; Linda, Jennifer, and Bryan Shropshire of Duxbury, MA; and a multitude of friends, neighbors, and confidants from Rehoboth Beach, DE to County Donegal, Ireland.
A service in celebration of Louise’s life will be held on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 10:00 AM at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 18 Olive Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE. A conversation hour will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the parish hall.
