While it has been many, many years, I have wonderful memories of Sylvia. She was an extremely helpful colleague in the Seaford School District—always willing to help with whatever for the good of the cause. I also had the privilege of teaching Dennis and Diana and saw her as an excellent parent. Intelligent, caring, and an all-around fine lady! I regret not having kept up with her over the years. Rest in Peace. . .

I am so sorry to hear about Sylvia’s passing. She helped me immensely when I was new Principal t Seafor High Schhol. She was always very professional and helped me in many ways. Sylvia was the oldest sister to my childhood friend, Carole Hastings. She was always so sweet to us, although I am sure we were most irritating as we were loud and always running around. I have known dear Sylvia all of my life. In younger days we wouldn't see each other that often...mostly at family holiday gatherings. In later years she offered me support and encouragement that meant so much to me...and since we both located to Rehoboth, we enjoyed occasional visits with long, wonderful conversations...memories of family, her great joy talking about her family, cats, and just about any other topic under the sun. Our last conversation, just a few weeks ago, was so special. I will forever hold her kind, loving words in my heart. The beautiful phlox, that are just now blooming in my yard, came from Sylvia...passed down from our grandparents in Seaford. They will always be a reminder of her. My heart felt love to her children Dennis, Diana, and Glen ..and devoted sister, Carole. May you rest in peace dear cousin....love you..Peggy Phillips
I worked with Sylvia at Blades Kindergarten. She had a smile and kind heart for everyone. The picture captures her sweet spirit! Prayers for peace and comfort for the family.
Sylvia was a huge part of the Children's Ministry Team at St. Johns. She loved the kids and was so much fun to work with. She was a kind, gentle, and had a great big smile. When she moved to Rehoboth, we visited several times each summer on her front porch as well as at Brandywine. Most of all, she had deep faith. I am glad she's healed and whole but we will certainly miss our visits. She truly impacted our lives and the lives of our girls.

Oh how sad, sweet angel Sylvia. My daughtter was telling me last week she had heard you had been really sick and I better try to go see you. I didn't, and now it's too late. You know what though? I know exactly where you are beautiful lady, and that is healthy, happy, singing with the angels, and standing next to Jesus. I have always said,and told so many people, the one true Christian I was absolutely positive knew real salvatioln and loved the Lord,was you my dear Sylvia. I believe you are rejoicing tonight.
