My grandmother, Mimi to my siblings and I, was so filled with wisdom. I remember visiting her when I was a child and thinking carefully about what I may say around her in fear that she would scold my bad grammar. However, I quickly learned this was one of the many ways she expressed her love. Our special visits to Mimi’s house were filled with compassion, grammar corrections, snuggles, and the largest amounts of love. I will always think of my Mimi on Christmas, while reading a book, watching nature documentaries, or most importantly when I need a reminder of how much I was loved. She truly embodied the spirit of wisdom and kindness. When I look at my beautiful mother whom she loved so dearly or when I look up at the sky to watch the sunset or gaze upon the stars I will always think of her and be flooded with childhood memories. I will miss her very much, but know that she will always be with us and I am forever grateful to have had such an amazing Mimi.
