Keller, Stanley - Passed away, unexpectedly, on Wednesday August 23, 2017
Son of the late Harry and Marie Keller (née Berkowitz). Beloved husband of 56 years to Joan Racusin Keller. Loving father and father-in-law of Joey and Debbie Keller, Sandy and Steve Friedman, Jill and David White. Treasured grandfather to Rebecca and Joshua Keller, Abby, Mattie and Halle Friedman, Lauren and Blake White. Dear brother of the late Pauline Walters, the late James Keller, the late Evelyn Alexander and the late Benjamin Keller. Adored uncle to his nephews and niece.
Stanley was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 22, 1925. In 1931 the family moved to Ellwood City, Pennsylvania.
In 1943 Stanley was drafted into the US Army. Stanley served in France during WWII with the 153rd Airborne Antiaircraft Battalion and was honorably discharged in February 1946.
Upon his return from France, Stanley studied Business Administration at Geneva College on a football scholarship.
Stan left school and along with his brother, Ben, took over the family’s clothing business, Keller’s Department Store.
Stan retired in 1987. He and Joan sold their Ellwood City home in 1996 and moved to Bethany Beach, Delaware. Golfing, going to the beach and winter trips to Florida were a passion of Stan’s.
Services were held on Friday August 25, 2017.
