Ruth E. Foster's Obituary
Ruth E. Foster, 83, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away peacefully on Friday, December 2, 2011, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born December 23, 1927 in Laurel, DE, daughter of the late Raymond and Myrtle (Joseph) Jestice.
Mrs. Foster graduated from Laurel High School in 1947 and from the Beebe School of Nursing in 1951. Mrs. Foster enjoyed a long and fulfilling nursing career at Beebe Medical Center (formerly known as Beebe Hospital). After retiring from Beebe, she and her late husband owned and operated the Colonial Oaks Motel in Rehoboth Beach. Mrs. Foster loved to travel anywhere in the world and together with her husband enjoyed their status as “Snow Birds” until 1994 when they permanently returned to Delaware. She enjoyed baking, community events and spending time with family and friends. She was active in the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church at Midway and was a great supporter and volunteer for Delaware Hospice. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed by so many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband of 48 years, D. Kelly Foster (2003). She is survived by her daughter Kelly Lynn Ellingsworth and her husband William IV of Rehoboth Beach; two granddaughters: Taylor Ellingsworth and Katelyn Ellingsworth both of Rehoboth Beach; a grandson, Derrick Quillen of Rehoboth Beach; two brothers: Jim Jestice and his wife Janet and Laurence Jestice and his wife Marion all of Laurel, DE; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A Graveside Service with Rev. Keith Offen will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 12:30 PM at Rehoboth Presbyterian Church at Midway Cemetery, 19075 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach, DE. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 AM to 12 Noon at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE.
The family will accept flowers as Mrs. Foster loved them or memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
