Ronald Edward Bowen's Obituary
Ronald Edward Bowen, age 66 of Lewes, DE passed away on Sunday, May 06, 2018, at Milford Place, in Milford, DE. He was born December 12, 1951 in Lewistown, PA, son of the late Bert Amos Bowen and Martha Bressler Bowen of Mechanicsburg, PA.
Mr. Bowen was a 1969 graduate of Chief Logan High School in Lewistown, PA and went on to receive his BS in Engineering from Penn State University in 1977. After his time in the National Guard from 1970 to 1976, his career spanning 30 years began with the Public Works Department for Anne Arundel County, Maryland, where he retired in 2013 as the Director of Public Works.
He enjoyed wood working, playing golf, fishing and biking with his wife and worked for many years with the Boy Scouts of America. His passion was for being a proponent of Environmental Stewardship, which led to him being a co-founder of the Anne Arundel County Watershed Stewards Academy.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Linda Lou Bowen; his son Michael Bowen (Danielle) of Clarksburg, MD; his daughter Aimee Isaac (Eugene) of Rehoboth Beach, DE and their three children, Avery, Everett and Addison; two sisters, Bonita Archfield (John) of Mechanicsburg, PA and Beverly Spada (Tony) of St. Augustine, FL.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 2 PM at the Lewistown Country Club, 306 Country Club Rd, Lewistown, PA 17044.
