Roberta Madge Crist's Obituary
Roberta Madge Crist, 95, of near Dagsboro died Wednesday, January 22, at home with her daughter at her side. She was born on August 11, 1918, in Clarksville, the daughter of Herbert and Eva Steele Murray.
Madge was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John R. Crist, in 1988.
She attended Lord Baltimore High School in Ocean View and worked supporting the farm that she and her husband operated.
She was a charter member of Selbyville Assembly of God founded in 1955, where she was a faithful Sunday School teacher, board member, officer of Women’s Ministries and a part of the church’s visitation team.
Throughout her life, she exhibited hospitality, friendliness and love to friends and people she met for the first time. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, flower arranging and cooking. In her later years, she traveled to California, Colorado, Wyoming, Florida and Texas.
She is survived by her daughter, Ida G. Crist of Dagsboro with whom she lived; a niece by marriage, Margaret P. Long, who was a mainstay of support; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, January 27, at Selbyville Assembly of God, 36360 Pepper Road, Selbyville. Friends may call at the church from 10 to 11AM prior to the service. Interment will be in St. George’s Cemetery, Clarksville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Selbyville Assembly of God.
