Barb,
Words cannot express the sorrow we feel for you and your family. Remembering all the good times and great memories we have shared together with you and Bob.
Dear Barbara, Sue and I are sorry to hear of your loss. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. John Marcheski
I was a classmate at Sallies and always enjoyed being around Bob. In our retirements, we were able to renew old friendships. At the last summer reunion in Lewes at Reardon's,his absence was noticed and we were told of his pulmonary disorder. We lost a good friend and classmate. He leaves a rich legacy of love to all who knew him. Nothing diminishes sorry when a love one dies, but our Catholic faith teaches us that we will be together again. Unfortunately, I am scheduled to be in Philadelphia tommorow. May he rest in peace.
Barb and Family, We are very sorry to hear about your loss.
Our prayers are with you.
Love, Fran & Tom
Our hearts go out to you and we share your loss.
We will always treasure our memories of Bobby's and your family's friendship
Barb: I am so sorry I can't be at the services tomorrow, but know that my prayers are with you and your family!
my deepest sympathy and condolenses
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family today, Bob. I still smile whenever I think of our Sallies/William Penn rivalry when we worked together in Finance. Just for you this once, "Go Salies"!
In 1998, I became the Town Manager of Elsmere. I needed someone with financial experience to assist me with addressing the Town's sad financial situation. I turned to a fellow County Police retiree who was not interested in the job, but he recommended Bob. When I spoke to Bob, he was very hesitant to go back to work, but he agreed to come and work with me anyway. Bob became a trusted advisor and was a part of every decision I made as Town Manager. He always did the "right thing" regardless of the consequences. More importantly, he became a good friend, who could always make everyone smile in the middle of a crisis. He could always calm me down when controversy tempted an angry outburst. For a guy who didn't want to come back to work, and whose job was as a finance professional, there he was, cutting the grass in parks, and plowing snow. I truly regret that Bob and I lost touch during the past 11 years. I hope he led the happy life he so much enjoyed, especially with his family that he spoke of so often. I cannot attend the services due to a commitment to a funeral for Past Wilmnington Fire Chief Jim Ford, but I will be thinking of the family and remembering that unforgettable smile on Bob's face. I am lucky to have known him.
