Richard R. Raffaelli's Obituary
Richard R. Raffaelli., age 73, of Lewes, DE passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. He was born July 1, 1942 in Long Island City, NY, son of the late Bruno and Eris Raffaelli. Richard graduated in 1960 from Teaneck High School in New Jersey. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1962 and served as a Helicopter Crew Chief during the Vietnam War and attained the rank of Sergeant. He retired as a Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Group Zodiac and moved to Lewes in 2006. Richard was an avid New York Giants and New York Yankees fan who loved cheering for his teams. He was a loving man who will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Raffaelli, and his sister, Joan Randall. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 51 years, Judith M. (Eisele) Raffaelli of Lewes, DE: daughter, Deanna Magrane, and her husband, Jeffrey, of Farmingdale, NY; daughter-in-law Lisa Raffaelli of Midland Park, NJ; 5 grandchildren: Caitlin, Andrew, and Erin Magrane; and Lauren and Ryan Raffaelli. He also had a beloved dog, Gabby.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016, at 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard Raffaelli’s name to Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, www.pennmedicine.org/giving or to the Lewes Fire Department, Inc., PO Box 225, Lewes, DE 19958. In May 2015, Mr. Raffaelli was a recipient of a liver transplant. His family thanks Beebe Health Care, especially Dr. Richard Caruso and Dr. Lourdes Aponte, for the wonderful care they gave him. The family also recognizes Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, for the diligent care Mr. Raffaelli received.
