It is with great sadness that the Garry family announce the passing of Richard Martin Garry, age 86, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of Union, NJ. He passed away on December 6, 2024, in his sleep at home after battling a long illness. Read Obituary
Camille and family so sorry to hear of Rich's passing. What a terrible loss for you but thankfully he is out of his pain and suffering and at peace with the LORD. Paul, also 86 with the same birthday has Rich, passed away Aug. 25 this year. I know all the heartache you are going through and you will get through this with the help of your family and friends. The first accident report drawing you submitted when I worked with you made me realize that you were a special person, we would draw stick figures and you would be able to draw a picture of the accident, as it happened, that didn’t even need the drivers’ narrative to show how it happened. God bless you and keep you Rich, our condolences to your family.

Whenever Jim Nevins, Rich's long-time partner was off, I'd try to get the lieutenant to put us together for that shift. We'd laugh through most of our time together, as he related story after story about the hilarious goings on that occurred at EPD - most of them as a direct result of his antics! Besides his great stories, I used to beg him to to dig out some of his saved accident reports, where I would look with amazement at his drawings of vehicles that were involved in crashes. Unlike the rest of us (who drew what amounted to stick figure people & vehicles), Rich would draw these vehicles in MOTION, so they appeared to be in "comic book" style panels. If you've ever seen them, you know about the incredible detail & talent that went into those renderings.
I really enjoyed those shifts when we worked together, & I know that he'll be truly missed by many.
