Richard John Floster's Obituary
Richard John “Rich” Floster, 68, of Harbeson, Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Rich was born on July 31, 1957, in Summit, New Jersey, to the late Les and Lorraine Floster. Carrying on a proud family tradition, he became a third-generation plumber after earning his certifications from Perdue University. Rich dedicated his career to the trade he loved, achieving the distinction of master plumber and remaining deeply involved in Local 24, where he was respected for his skill, work ethic, and camaraderie.
Rich was a man of many passions and a generous spirit. He served as Picnic
Coordinator for the annual Patrick J. Ryan Scholarship Fund event, a role he embraced with enthusiasm and pride. He was also a devoted member of the Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge #2540, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to his community.
In his free time, Rich could often be found in his workshop woodworking, tending to his garden, or working on his beloved motorcycles—he was a true Harley-Davidson enthusiast. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, and crabbing, and took great pleasure in collecting pocket knives and antiques. Whether outdoors or at home, Rich found joy in the simple things and in sharing those moments with others.
Rich is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Floster; his children, Maggie and Will; his stepdaughters, Casey and Lindsay; and his cherished grandson, John. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Leslie and Francis.
