Patrick Harney's Obituary
Patrick Harney, age 94 of Lewes, DE passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Harbor Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, in Lewes.
He was born on January 29, 1926 in County Waterford, Ireland, son of the late Nicholas and Agnes Harney. Although Mr. Harney eventually made his way to the United States as a younger man, he never lost the Irish in him and would often be seen out with his green sweater and Irish cap.
For many years before retirement, Mr. Harney worked as a sales manager for the Ford Motor Company, where his talent for selling cars and gaining loyal customers was legendary.
Mr. Harney was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Peg” Harney in 2007. He is survived by his sisters: Eileen Leonard of Falls Church, VA and Joan Brennan of Dublin, Ireland; as well as many nieces and nephews who lovingly knew him as “Uncle Pat.”
Graveside services will be held at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE, on Friday March 6, 2020 at 11:00 AM.
