Patricia A. Bradley's Obituary
Patricia "Pat" Bradley, 74, of Rehoboth Beach, DE went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 17, 2009, surrounded by her loved
ones at Beebe Memorial Hospital in Lewes, DE.
Pat was the loving wife of her husband Edward G. Bradley, Jr. for 48 years. She was a devoted mother to her five children Edward, Patricia, David,Michaele, and Nanette and a wonderful "MumMum" to her nine grandchildren James, Sean, Kyle, Ryan, Colin, Wayne, Aidan, Sarah, and Keegan.
She was born Patricia Ann O'Hara on December 7, 1934 in South Philadelphia, PA, the youngest of 12 children of Martin O'Hara and Agnes Spellman O'Hara. She attended Little Flower High School. She met her future husband Edward Bradley while working at the Philadelphia Art Museum. They were married on September 3, 1960. They raised their children in the Olney neighborhood of North Philadelphia and attended St. Helena's Roman Catholic Church. In September 1999, the family moved to The Landing in Rehoboth Beach, DE and began attending St. Edmond's Roman Catholic Church.
Pat was a compassionate caregiver whose devotion for ill and dying family members eventually led to her work with Hospice of Delaware and Griswold Special Care. Pat also worked for the Delaware State Parks in Sussex County. Her love and tenderness were endlessly given to her family and to everyone she met. She embodied the words of Philippians 4:5, "Let your gentleness be evident to all."
Pat is survived by her husband Edward of Rehoboth Beach, DE; daughter Patricia Bradley and grandson Ryan Hicks of Georgetown, DE; son David Bradley, daughter-in-law Martie Bradley and grandchildren Colin, Aidan, and Keegan Bradley of Grand Rapids, MI; daughter Michaele Bradley of Milton, DE; daughter Nanette McCloskey and grandchildren Sean, and Kyle McCloskey and Wayne and Sarah Davis of Bluebell, PA; grandson James McCloskey of Rehoboth Beach, DE; sister Virginia McEwen of Abington, PA; sister Catherine Lemon of Bristol, PA; sister-in-law and dear friend Mary Bradley of Wilmington,DE; sister-in-law Anna Bradley Rynkiewicz (and husband Robert) of Cape May, NJ; brother-in-law Hugh Bradley (and wife Patricia) of Naperville, IL; and many nieces and nephews in the Philadelphia and Tri-State area.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and six sisters, and her son Edward G. Bradley III who died on October 25, 2005.
Friends and family will be received at 11:00 a.m.on Tuesday, July 21, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon at St. Edmond's Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE; interment will be private.
