Opal L. McAdams' Obituary
Opal McAdams (nee Scott) passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 38, surrounded by family after a fierce, heroic battle with cancer. She is mourned by her mother, Lorette Rientjes-Scott, her brother Doran Scott, her grandmother Theresa Rientjes, her aunt Marielle Rientjes and her closest friend, Mary Cerami. Her loss is greatly felt by her employer, her colleagues and friends who were her extended family. A special thank you to the Gallo family and Andrew Ratner, for their gracious support and to Mary Cerami, who without hesitation took on the role of care giver.
Opal rarely asked for help. She wanted cancer to know that she was not weak. She faced everything it threw at her head on. Respecting Opal’s wishes, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations made to any animal shelter or organization that protects animals. Cancer does not get to have the last word; Opal does, with her tag line: #CancerSucks.
