Michael S. Puka's Obituary
Michael Stephen Puka, age 67 of Lewes, DE, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021. He was born on April 19, 1954, in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Andrew and Nellie Puka. He married the love of his life, Jennifer Puka, May 26, 2000, on Lewes Beach.
Mike worked as a driver for Atlantic Logistics Agency, Inc. He was an avid fisherman, enjoying the outdoors, boating, and being on the water whenever he could. He was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. Mike was an animal lover that cherished his time with his wiener dog, Frankie. Mike was loving friend and neighbor, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Above all, he cherished time spent with family, talking to his daughter and taking the kids fishing. Mike was a loving and devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his nephew, David Puka. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Jennifer Puka; his beloved and cherished daughter Kaitlyn Johnson (Barrett); his stepdaughter, Jamie Hemingway (Bruce); his stepson, Jason Klinger (Michelle); his 4 grandchildren; his brother, David Puka (Sandy); his nephew, Matthew (Cecilia); and his treasured great nieces and nephew.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the services at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Pilottown Road, Lewes, DE.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, masks must be worn, and social distancing must be observed by any and all persons participating in any aspect of the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Mike's memory to the SPCA, Georgetown Campus, 22918 Dupont Boulevard, Georgetown, DE 19947.
