Maxine Evans' Obituary
Maxine Nuse Evans, 89, of Lewes, DE passed away peacefully on February 2, 2016 in Lewes, Delaware. Born on February 1, 1927 in Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe Nuse and Evelyn Staples Nuse and grew up in Cumberland, MD. She was preceded in death by her husband, John McConney Evans, Sr, her twin sister, Geraldine Mowrar, and her brother, Harley Nuse. She lived in Harford County, MD for the majority of her adult life, and worked for many years as a banker.
In this life, she enjoyed playing bridge and golf, traveling the world, photography, and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Evans is survived by her 2 sons, John McConney Evans, Jr. (Susan) of Havre de Grace, MD, and Gregory Keith Evans (Valerie) of Rehoboth Beach, DE, 3 grandchildren, Jill Gerringer (Thomas) of Burlington, NC, Brian Evans (Erica) of Washington, DC, and Victoria Evans of Rehoboth Beach, DE, and 1 great granddaughter, Paige Gerringer.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 7pm at Bel Air United Methodist Church, 21 Linwood Ave, Bel Air, Maryland 21014.
