Mark and Tony (“Smoky” and “Way”) side by side in these pictures as we often were back in our days in Sistersville, right up until the day we enlisted together. Mark was one of those guys that everyone liked. He always had a wide circle of friends. I count myself privileged to have been in that circle. We got to know Mark a few years ago when we became neighbors in our new homes in the community of Welches Pond. We admired Mark's dedication to his canine partner, Conan, who he walked diligently every day. It was so nice being able to look out our back windows and see him enjoying his newly built screened-in porch, deck, BBQ grill, and fenced in back yard. We really enjoyed talking to Mark, as he was always so polite and had a smile that brightened up your day. He a special relationship with his wife, Diane, who he adored. He was a fierce Rummikub player, and had the most interesting postcard collection. Just a really neat guy all the way around. We will truly miss Mark. Our thoughts and prayers are with Diane and his entire family.
Although we only met Mark a short while ago, he was a joy to spend time with. Our fondest memories are of sharing good food and conversation, playing games of Rummikub, and seeing his postcard collection. We will miss him. Jusy Beiriger and Bob Veroff
