I worked with Mario at Beebe Medical Center in the security department. Many times we worked the second shift, he would initiate what he called operation manja. Which meant we would search the hospital for left over food from a catered meeting. Sometimes we would find some good grub. He was a great partner at Beebe, he always told me about his little buddah on the dash of his Jeep, he would rub the buddah belly in hopes of making the next payment. One night we w were on morgue detail taking a patient to the morgue from an upper floor. We exited the elevator, Mario was leading the gurney, the sheet caught the front wheel and started to be pulled off the body bag. I never saw Mario move so fast, I had to refrain from laughing because he thought the movement of the sheet was the deceased raising up on the gurney. I told him it was only the sheet under the wheel. I moved away and lost contact with Mario, but I will never forget operation manja or the elevator trip from Hell, I was thinking of you tonight Mario, he considered me a fellow paesan from another mother. I'll never forget you brother.
