I'm so sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing. I knew her from her years at Community Lutheran Church. I was inspired by her passion for teaching and her zest for life and always appreciated her dry sense of humor.

Marilyn and I taught English together at Seaford HS many years ago. She was a smart lady with excellent insights into the needs of students. In more recent years she became an anchor for maintaining contact and interaction among and between school colleagues setting up frequent group lunches and keeping folks informed about the maladies and challenges we all faced while growing older. On the one hand, we are all shocked at her quick exit from this life; yet, in other ways, we are happy that she was spared a long and lingering decline. She will be missed!
Our kids were small when Bob and I met Marilyn and Vera at Smuggler's Den in the late 70's. She was the one both in person and from a distance that helped me in 2020 with emotional support and encouragement after Bob died. So many fond and fun memories....swinging at the Granite Garden, eating seafood everywhere, playing cribbage at the campground.....
marti had a heart as big as texas!!! i stayed at her house many times, watched her dog duchess...sara babb and i would stop at her house on our way to assateague island and sometimes take her dog with us. we were always welcome in her home and though i haven't seen her for years we kept in touch on faceback. she was well loved in our family/community and will be sorely missed. one less light in the world!
I had Ms. McMahon in 9th and 10th grade English class. That was back in 1993 and 1994. Long time ago. She was such a wonderful teacher. She always made you feel like you had a special place in this world. She was always there if you ever needed help with something. I still remember her saying that the word "ain't" is not a word. The others would say yes it is it is in the dictionary and she would reply"It is not a proper word". She will be deeply missed. R.I.P Ms.McMahon. You will never be forgotten. One of my favorite teachers in Seaford High School
What a great teacher she was! I had here my 11th and 12th grade year! She loved all her students! Truly an outstanding educator that will truly be missed ! Rip Ms McMahon
I'm so saddened to hear that Marti has died. I met her 50 years ago through the organization Young World Development, and visited her when she lived in Kittanning and later, in Delaware, just as she visited me and many friends in Philadelphia. She was a warm, wonderful person, and an inspirational teacher. More recently, I followed her yearly trips to Maine on her Facebook postings. RIP, Marti.
Marilyn and I played together when we were in elementary school since she lived on Central Avenue and I lived at the end of it. Our parents were friends. We were both raised Lutheran. When her aunt was still living in the area, she would come home to visit and would attend my church, Holy Trinity Lutheran in Chicora. I was so shocked to read of her passing. While doing her family research, she sent me a picture of the Iron City Trestle from the early 1990's since we live near it.

We were so shocked to hear of her passing. Marilyn was a dear friend for Suzy and me for many many years. She was my wife's roommate in college, and she was part of our Wedding. She was a very special person in our lives. We will miss her visits and her happy smile and warm happy personality that always brightened the time we were together. We will miss her greatly; she will always be in our hearts and prayers.
