Marguerite "Peggy" Hudson's Obituary
Marguerite E. "Peggy" (Engeberg) Hudson, age 93, of Georgetown, DE, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 14, 1923, the daughter of the late Clarance and Martha (English) Engeberg.
Peggy earned a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Delaware, thus beginning a long career as an elementary and high school teacher in Georgetown schools. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and playing bridge, as well as swimming and going to the beach. She was a Daughter of the American Revolution and an avid supporter of the Georgetown Library. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Georgetown.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, William R. Hudson, Sr. and her brother, Richard Engeberg, Sr.
She is survived by her sons: William R. Hudson, II and his wife, Bonita, of Millsboro; and Robin Reed Hudson, and his wife, Linda, of Milford; her grandson, James J. Hudson, and his wife, Darby, of Milton; her great-grandchildren, Aidan and Grace Hudson, of Milton; and her nephews: Richard A. Engeberg, Jr. and his wife, Sandy, of Pittsburgh, PA; and Rick Engeberg and his wife, Melissa, of Pittsburgh, PA.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 North Bedford Street, Georgetown, DE where the family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, August 16, 2016. A Funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 122 East Pine Street, Georgetown, DE. Union Cemetery at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 17, 2016. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Georgetown, DE.
