Dear Hudson Family,
I am writing on behalf of my mother, Virginia Walls Speakman. She was very sad to hear about her friend, Peg, passing away. My mother feels uncomfortable in groups of people due to her limited ability to hear and her very poor eye sight due to macular degeneration so she will not be at the viewing or funeral but wanted you to know how fond she was of Peg.
My mother appreciated all of the years your mother worked at Bird Speakman in Rehoboth Beach where her gracious manners and sweet disposition made everyone who entered the shop feel welcome and comfortable. Peg was a wonderful salesperson who made every customer feel special as she did with everyone she met!

Our boys grew up with "Aunt Peg & Uncle Bill" when we lived on West Market Street. Peg was a wonderful & classy lady whom we grew to love. Our friendship continued over 40 years; she will be sorely missed but fondly remembered. Suenell & Darrell Steele

Through the last several years, I have enjoyed the company of Peg so much. We played Scrabble at the Georgetown Library and at her home. We enjoyed going out to lunch together, and going to a variety of restaurants. Peg was a good friend, but more than that, she made me feel like family. I will treasure every moment spent in her company, as she was a very special lady, and she will be sorely missed by many. Peg had a way of making you feel like you were the most important person in the room. She was just a blessing to all who knew and loved her. My heart goes out to Bill, Bonnie, Robin, Linda, and all the other family members who have only the memories of this great lady to console them. She has been blessed by the best.
