Margaret Mary O'Brien's Obituary
Margaret M. "Peggy" O'Brien, age 81, of Lewes, DE and formerly of Forestville, MD, passed away on March 16, 2011 at home.
She was born in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of the late Maurice and Margaret Bransfield. She married Waldron J. O'Brien at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in East Falls, Philadelphia, PA. The couple moved to the Washington, D.C. area, then retired to Lewes, DE in 1992. They were happily married for 61 years.
Peggy worked for the U.S. Census Bureau for 20 years before she retired. She had previously worked as a legal and executive secretary. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an active member of St. Jude the Apostle Church, AARP and NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association).
She is survived by her husband, Waldron J., Sr.; son Tom (Joanne) of Hollywood, FL; son Waldron, Jr. (Patti) of Lewes, DE; son Dennis (Ellen) of Lafayette Hill, PA; daughter Patty Lesher (Richard) of New London, PA; grandchildren Meghan (Rich), Katie, Danny, Stephanie, Matthew and Sean; great-grandchildren Parker and Jack.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Most Reverend Bishop Michael J. Bransfield at St. Edmond’s Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE, on March 23,2011 at 11:00 AM. The family will greet friends at the church beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE, 19963.
