What wonderful childhood memories I have of Margaret. She, her sisters and her mother were all part of our extended family. What a blessing she was to so many families.
Margaret was a beloved member of our big family. She came over for dinner every Friday night for years. We loved her because she did the dishes with us- and that was our job.
Margaret introduced many things to my life as a child - such as knowing dogs - Missy & Perdida; going to NYC- she took me there; apartment living; a FUN group card game called Animal; the Cottage- our family rented for several summers on the Chesapeake; and being a professional woman in the 60s & 70s, and more.
Margaret and her sister Ann often took care of our firstborn baby, Casey while Bob & I played volleyball.
As a child, Margaret made me feel special. She was like an aunt to me in many ways, and I appreciated the special attention and love.
She was tiny in body and big in spirit, generosity and caring for the world.
She will be missed.
Margaret McGee played a major role in the growth of the Ministry of Caring. She will always be recognized as a keystone in creating a neetwork of services to the poorest of the poor. Above all, God is rewarding her for all that she has accomplished on this earth. We are saddened by her loss, and send you condolences that one day we will join her, only after we follow her example of making a difference in this world.
