Leonilda Seay's Obituary
Leonilda "Rose" Seay, age 80 of Lewes, DE, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Beebe Healthcare. She was born on June 15, 1941, in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Ramon and Etervina Negron.
Leonilda married David Shuttleworth on August 30, 1962, in Elkton, MD. After his passing, she married Joseph Seay on May 27, 1989, in Houston, DE.
Leonilda was a longtime waitress and Meals on Wheels coordinator at the Milford Senior Center. She had many interests and hobbies, such as reading, watching the Hallmark Channel, spending time with family, listening to music, helping others, going for rides with her "Village People", and working out with her pulmonary rehab friends. Above all, she enjoyed time spent with those she held most dear. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents and her first husband, Leonilda was preceded in death by her siblings: Jose Negron, Carmen Amos, Virginia "Cookie" Sandrovich, Manuel Negron and Ana Beene. She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Seay, of Lewes, DE; her children: David Shuttleworth (Sharon) of Collegeville, PA, Dean Shuttleworth (Stephanie) of Lewes, DE, Dawn Shuttleworth (Gary) of St. Leonard, MD, Joe Seay (Sally) of Marlborough, MA, Michael Seay (Megan) of Medford, NJ; her grandchildren: Dawson, Jessica, Riley, Logan, Ethan, Jacob, Liam, Trey, Catherine, Oliver, and Bennett; her great granddaughter, Nora Mae; her siblings: Daniel Negron, Josue Negron, Esther Negron, Lydia Reeves, Mary Mora, Rachel Roberts, Lin Petrucci, and Felicia Mercado; her nieces and nephews; and her many in - laws.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM.
Interment will begin at 2:00 PM at the Sharon Hills Memorial Park, 2928 Sharon Hill Rd, Dover, DE.
Social distancing protocols must be observed and masks must be worn by everyone participating in any aspect of the service.
