Katherine L. Hoerner's Obituary
Katherine Hoerner, lovingly known as Katie by her family and friends, passed away suddenly on September 29, 2024, at the age of 81 in Millsboro, Delaware. She was born on October 14, 1942, in Vineland, New Jersey, daughter of the late Thomas Porch and Maver Porch (Robinson).
Katie enjoyed a successful career as a Regional Sales Manager for a major industrial container company, and after retiring, she continued to bring joy to others while working at the LL Bean Outlet in Flemington, New Jersey.
Katie had a vibrant spirit and a passion for life. She cherished time spent with her family, enjoyed reading, dancing, and hiking, and looked forward to her weekly Zumba classes with friends. An animal lover at heart, she was never without her beloved Maltipoo, Sadie.
In addition to her parents, Katie was predeceased by her brother William Porch, and her nephew Sam Porch. She is survived by her devoted husband, Peter Hoerner Jr.; her sons, Robert (Sara) and William DuBois; her stepchildren, Peter Hoerner III (Meghan) and Jill Malone (James); her cherished grandchildren, William, Lauren, Christian, Phoebe DuBois, Edie and Jan Hoerner, Hunter, Jake, and Cole Malone; and her siblings, Ellen Greco (Michael Cudemo), Joseph Porch (Patricia), and Thomas Porch.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate .
Katie will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the joy she brought to those around her. She will be greatly missed.
While our hearts ache at her sudden departure, let us remember the love, laughter, and joy she brought into our lives. Her legacy will live on in our memories and in the lessons she taught us about kindness, resilience, and the importance of family.
