Craig Stewart
The raspy voice still echos in my ear “Hey Craig”. How I’m going to miss my dry humored June. I have been a fellow neighbor of hers for over 20 years and have served on the board with her here at Henlopen Station. I am truly going to miss her yelling over the railing as I run to the pool after returning from the beach - “Dont pee in the pool Craig!” Over the years June would give me dress code violations. I honestly never really care what I look like. I would wear plaids and strips, cargo shorts and flower printed shirts just to get her riled up. I’ll miss our random chats walking our dogs or checking our mail. Many of us knew of June’s health, but she carried herself with pride and when I asked how she was doing - she would respond with “I’m OK”. I am thrilled to know that she was able to enjoy be surrounded by all of her girls. I once asked June what she was looking for in life and she said “A cocktail waitress on an oil rig with a phd in art/history”, I reminded her of that just a few weeks ago. Nothing but fond memories do I have of this woman and her presence in this community will live on for years to come. God speed June - your legacy lives on.
