It’s taken me over a month to post something about Mom here but, if you are on social media, you know I have been struggling. The grief comes in waves but the waves are further apart now. I can now smile with fondness at all the things around the house that elicit warm memories of Mom. Being the oldest of her four children, life was hectic in our household. Later on, as a working mother, it seemed to go into overdrive. One day, I asked God to allow me the chance to have a closer relationship with Mom before it was too late. And look what he did. He gave Dave and I a trial run with her at her house for 4 months before we moved to Rehoboth so that she could make the life changing decision to come live with us in 2022. We had a great time becoming friends and then I became Mom’s “Mom” at the very end. I feel very thankful to have had those precious times and miss her terribly. She was indeed the bedrock upon which our family is built; loving, giving, and gracious.
