Celebrating the Vibrant Life of Joe McCarthy
"An excellent father, family man, always with a smile."
Joe McCarthy, a devoted father, loving husband, and loyal friend, passed away on January 16th, 2025, in Milford, DE. Born on June 30th, 1985, in Christiana, DE, Joe lived a life filled with joy, passion, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.
Joe's warmth and kindness touched everyone he met. His infectious smile and optimistic spirit made every moment brighter. Always hardworking and supportive, he dedicated himself to bettering not only his life but also the lives of those around him.
From a young age, Joe's enthusiasm for cars and electronics was evident. He began his career at Lloyds Market in Lewes and later worked at Sound FX in Lewes and Bridgeville. For 13 years, he served with the Delaware Department of Corrections, showing dedication and integrity. Joe's passion led him back to the world of cars as a mobile contractor for Elitek, and he eventually fulfilled a dream by owning and operating Joe's Automotive Solutions.
Deeply committed to his community, Joe was a past member and engineer of the Lewes Volunteer Fire Company for 13 years. His selflessness knew no bounds—he was always ready to lend a hand and would do anything for anyone.
When not working on cars or his cherished truck, Black Betty, Joe could be found at the gym or singing along to his favorite songs. He treasured family adventures, especially camping trips, cruises, and joyful gatherings. His family was his world, and he cherished every moment with them.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Meghan McCarthy, and their two beloved daughters, Kimberlyn and Maddie Jo McCarthy. He also leaves behind his mother, Carmelea E.
