Following graduation, John met and married the love of his life, Nancy (DiForte) in 1958, and the two would spend the next sixty-five years raising a beautiful family and creating a wonderful life together with countless happy memories. They resided in Baltimore, MD from the start of their marriage until 1982, then relocated to West Chester, PA from 1982 until 2020, when John and Nancy decided to make their retirement home close to the beaches of Southern Delaware.
After graduation, John answered the call to serve his country, and enlisted in the United States Army, where he honorably served until 1966. He attended classes at the University of Baltimore, earning a bachelor’s degree. John worked for several companies, but his last career was working for H.A. Thomson Company, as a Safety Engineer. He was a member of the American Legion Post 5 in Rehoboth Beach and the Elks Lodge of Cape Henlopen #2540, where he and Nancy made many friends and enjoyed being social. A devoted grandfather, he loved traveling to the many events and activities that his grandchildren were involved in. He also enjoyed the simple pleasure of walking his beloved dog Sadie, who was his constant companion for sixteen years. Above all, the time spent with his family and those he held dear was what he cherished most.
