Mommy, they say that as the days go by, that the pain will get easier. Well, for me it feels like the opposite. I miss your voice, and laugh and kisses and your smell and our long talks, which there is no one on this earth who will understand me better than you, your beautiful smile and the peacefulness I felt in your presence. I was saddened to hear the news of Joan's passing and extend my deepest sympathy to her loving family.

Joanie and I were fast friends during our years at Eddystone High School. I have many fond memories of our antics growing up; she was such fun to be with.

I am so gratified that we were able to rekindle our friendship at our 50th class reunion in 2006.

Mom, Thank you for instilling in me compassion and love for others, thank you for your personal sacrifice to raise all five of us when you had nothing, when you were left with nothing due to no fault of your own. Your desire to not have your spirit broken by a man, and to pull yourself and your children up from the bottom of crisis set the bar very high for me to try to reach in my life. You were left with nothing, but you worked, fought and struggled, and in the end you had it all. You achieved your dream of living at the beach, you gave back to others, even in death. Joan was one of the sweetest woman I have ever known. She was always there for everyone including me.She always made you feel alittle better about yourself after you were around her.
