Joan Ruth Wagner's Obituary
Joan Ruth Wagner, "Noanie", 93 passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 4, 2025, in Lewes, Delaware. Born on April 23, 1931 in Chester, Pennsylvania. Joan led a life distinguished by generosity, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.
Joan will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children: Wayne Abmeyer, Pamela Bazzoli, Kimberly Briggs (Gary), and Sandra Scott (Mark). Her legacy will live on through the memories and stories shared by her grandchildren—Lisa, Jennifer, Anthony, Ernest, Nichole, Jonathan, Addison, and Chelsea—as well as her nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles B. Wagner, and her son, Scott Abmeyer.
Joan was a dedicated member for more than 20 years to Saint George's Chapel, where she served on the Altar Guild and volunteered at the Saint Georges Thrift Shop . Her spirit of service extended to her work with the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and she volunteered at hospitals near her homes in Pennsylvania and Florida. Joan was also a member of the Lewes Senior Center.
Joan found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed travel, puzzles, reading and as an enthusiastic card player Joan was always up for a game!
Joan will be remembered for her warmth, kind heart, wonderful sense of humor, and deep commitment to her family.
She often said "I've had a wonderful life."
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 at 11:30 AM am St. Georges Chapel, 20271 Beaver Dam Rd. Harbeson, DE 19951.
