Dear Jill,Happy and Diane,
We are all so fortunate to have had such loving and wonderful mothers.
I so value the artisan that your mother was and was in an art museum admiring paintings of roses the day before she died. In fact, I had written her a card and included the biography of the painter because he so made me think of her.
That was her true gift to me; an appreciation of beautiful things - from turquoise bracelets to inkwells to dolls to quilts to painted porceline and of course gardens. I saw and valued all of these objects differently when with your mother.
I will miss her. Know how much she was loved. So wish I could be there to celebrate her life.
Much love to you all,
Sally
