A sympathy card has been sent to the family of Jan Lissy.
Paul,
It is with much grief that I read about Jan's passing. Blake Giliotti let me know.
I remember Jan as a wise and funny person, a good school friend, and someone who was genuinely interested in her community. She talked of her wonderful marriage often during the years I knew her. I know you will miss her greatly. My thoughts are with you.
God bless all of Janice's family and friends at this sad time. Fondest of memories of Janice when we were young children in Punxsutawney. Eileen Jesensky French, first cousin
Dear Lissy Family:
My wife and I are saddened to hear the passing of Mrs. Lissy. She was one of our favorite teachers at Peary high school in Rockville, MD. She touched a lot of lives at Peary and she will be deeply missed by many of her former students. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Take care and God Bless.

I am so sorry to hear about Jan no longer being with us. She was such a beautiful woman who found the positive in everyday and always had a kind word to say about people. I will always treasure the memories of working with her, visiting her in the Kentlands & at the beach, and traveling with her & Paul to China. Her positive attitude was always shining in China. Even when her luggage was misplaced for three days. She saw the beauty in everything we did and was always willing to experiment. Her stories about her family always lit up her face. There is a Sanskrit Proverb that Jan embodied: "Yesterday is but a dream, tomorrow but a vision. But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day." Jan truly lived each day with a love & appreciation that we should all try to emulate. I am blessed and a better person having known her.
