James Jay Symons' Obituary
James Symons, 84, Lewes, Delaware
2 Corinthians 5:8
“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, James Symons, who passed away on October 9, 2025 at the age of 84. He is now reunited with his beloved wife and soulmate, LouJean Symons.
Born to John and Edith Symons, Jim was a true Jersey boy who loved the water. He never missed a chance to catch the waves in his hometown of Monmouth Beach, always listening to his favorite tunes from The Beach Boys. He grew up with a deep sense of patriotism, that led him to join the U.S. Navy, where he served our Country proudly and was honorably discharged.
He worked as a probation officer for the County of Ocean until his well-deserved retirement. He enjoyed kayaking, aikido, weightlifting, being at the gun range, hiking, and keeping himself in shape.
Jim’s greatest joy was his family. He met and married his loving wife, LouJean, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and lasting memories. Though her passing left a deep void in his heart, his memories of their time together never faded.
He is survived by his children: his firstborn, Michelle Pipeling, her husband, David Pipeling, and their daughter, Isabelle Symons; and his son, John Symons, and John’s sons, Jake Symons and Eric Symons, along with numerous other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
A private celebration of life will take place in the future to honor his memory and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to any local hospice of your choice. He loved the hospice organization who took such wonderful care of his departed wife.
