Helena C. Macintire's Obituary
Helena "Lenna" Coverdale Macintire, age 70, of Towson, MD, passed away on August 20, 2010 in Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Baltimore, from complications of pneumonia. She was born June 16, 1940 in Lewes, DE, daughter of the late E. Gould and Helena (Coverdale) Macintire.
Lenna graduated from Lewes High School in 1958 and Towson State Teachers College in 1963. After her retirement, Lenna volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital, the Maryland Historical Society, and the Theodore J. George Library at the Annunciation Cathedral. She liked to travel, especially to Europe, and enjoyed her first visit to the Holy Land so much she went back a second time. She was a very kind and thoughtful person who was always ready to help her friends, especially when they were ill. She enjoyed raising her two devoted and loving schnauzers - Misty and Muffin.
She is survived by a sister, Constance Hopkins, of Milton, DE; a brother, George Macintire and his wife, Pat, of Lewes; four nephews and three nieces. She was a good friend of Betty Jean Alevizatos and her family.
