Harry Michael Hunt's Obituary
Harry Michael "Mike" Hunt, age 79 of Millsboro, DE, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2022, at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, DE. He was born on August 29,1943, in Morgantown, WV, son of the late Harry M. and Kathryn (Brewer) L. Hunt.
Mr. Hunt graduated from high school in 1961, and after graduation, he proudly served in the US Army as a military police officer. Following his honorable discharge, Mr. Hunt married the love of his life, Kathleen, on September 27, 1969, and together they raised their beautiful family. He worked as a supervisor and a claims adjuster for NJ MFG Insurance, retiring in 2000 after many dedicated years.
Mr. Hunt had many interests and hobbies. He loved golfing and gardening, and he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He could often be found on his golf cart, smoking his cigar surrounded by neighborhood friends, children and dogs and watching his grandchildren play sports, who were the apples of his eye . Above all, Mr. Hunt treasured time spent with those who meant the most to him. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Loved by many, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law: Edge Wojcik and Ernie Vitale; and his nephew, Joseph Urban. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Kathleen Hunt; his daughters: Jaclyn Hunt of Roselle Park, NJ and Kristin Redziniak and her husband, Ray of Hillsborough, NJ; his grandchildren: Devin and Logan Redziniak; his siblings: Larry Hunt (Vickey) of Medfield, MA, Linda Wojcik of Rahway, NJ, Joey Urban (Barbara) of Clark, NJ, and Jeff Urban (Donna) of Rahway, NJ; his sister-in-law, Patty Vitale of Manchester, NJ; his14 nieces and nephews; and his 16 great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 12:00 - 4:00 PM at the Stonewater Creek Clubhouse, 24825 Shoreline Drive, Millsboro, DE 19966.
An additional Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2023, from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the American Legion Post 5, 581 Maple Avenue, Rahway, NJ 07065.
