Harry L. Culver Sr.'s Obituary
Harry L. Culver, Sr., age 83 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at his home. He was born Thursday, March 28, 1935 in Bellevue, PA, son of the late Wilbur and Edith (Paine) Culver.
Mr. Culver earned a B.S. in Physics in 1960 from Washington & Jefferson College in Pennsylvania. He was drafted into the U.S. Army, Scientific & Professional Corp at Frankford Arsenal, where he served for Atwo years. For most of his career, he worked as an electrical engineer for NASA, where he helped design the Apollo Base Command System and was in charge of electrical power systems for various satellites.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, doing handyman projects, and salt-water fishing. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn (Jacobs) Culver of Rehoboth Beach, DE; his sister, Elizabeth Moyer and her husband Robert of Knoxville, TN; his son, Harry Culver, Jr. and his wife Anna (of Dunkirk, MD), daughter Allison Wachendorfer and her husband Ted (of Carrollton, TX), and daughter Kristi Gibson and her husband Brian (of Plano, TX), and grandchildren Samantha, Harrison, Natasha, Artem, Lauren, and Will.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM, at St. Edmond Church, 401 King Charles Avenue; Rehoboth Beach, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Friends may also call the evening prior, Sunday, June 10, 2018, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at Parsell Funeral Home and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Interment will follow the Mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 32112 Vines Creek Road; Dagsboro, DE.
