Met Jim in grade school. Jim, his cousin Bruce and I were the best of friends and did everything together. We would play ball just about every day - playing basketball at the Yard (Christ Our Kings school yard), playing baseball at Prices Run and Baynard Park fields and football at the A.I.duPont field - next to Concord Pike (now sits the US 95 interchange).
On Saturday evenings we would meet at Ashenbacks, stand on the corner till the crowds arrived and then try to convince one of our friends (Girl) to go to their homes where their mothers' would bring out the cookies and more drinks. Those were the good ole days where getting into trouble was being too loud on the street corner.
Lost touch with Jim when we all went to college but got back together when we had the COK Class of 1953 reunion in 2003. Here are a few pictures of our recent get to getters.
Good times Jim. You will be missed.
