Grace Fazio's Obituary
Grace Fazio, age 81, of Lewes, DE passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Brandywine Senior Living, in Rehoboth Beach, DE. She was born Monday, February 11, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Vincent and Anna (Longadino) Bonafede.
Mrs. Fazio worked for many years in healthcare as a registered nurse. Her kindness and compassion for others carried over into her retirement when she became involved in making quilts for the needy in the community. She was a quilter, wove baskets, and was a master gardner, including being a past president of her garden club. She also enjoyed traveling the United States and Europe extensively. More than anything, however, she cherished time spent with her family. Mrs. Fazio was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fazio was preceded in death by her grandson, Daniel DiLernia, and a brother, Joseph Bonafede.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas Fazio, of Lewes, DE; her daughters:, Susan DiLernia and her husband Philip, of Canton, MI, and Lucille Acanfora and her husband John, of Breinigsville, PA; her son, William Fazio, of Estell Manor, NJ; her granddaughters: Elizabeth Harer and her husband, Don, and Emily Acanfora; her grandson, David DiLernia and his wife, Nicole; her great-granddaughter, Danielle DiLernia; her great-grandson, Dominic DiLernia; and her sister, Agatha Dowling.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at 3:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where visitation will begin at 2:00 PM. Interment will be private.
The family will welcome flowers for the services, or friends may make a contribution to the local cancer or Alzheimer's organization of their choosing.
