Gerald Anthony Brock's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Gerald Anthony Brock, age 80, a native of Choupic, LA and a resident of Millsboro, DE on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. He was born on November 4, 1942, in Chackbay, LA, son of the late Evariste and Elsie Marie Ida (Chiasson) Brock.
Mr. Brock was a graduate of Thibodaux High School, class of 1960. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army and served for 7 years, spending 1 year in Vietnam. While stationed at the Pentagon, Mr. Brock met his wife of 56 years, Kathy. More than anything, he enjoyed time spent with those he held most dear. Mr. Brock was a loving and devoted husband. father, grandfather brother, and friend. Loved by many, he will be forever missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brock was predeceased by his brothers, Charles, Philip Rodney (Susan Barker), and Larry Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Brock (Ging); his son, Stephen Brock (Tammy Burrows) of Columbia, MD; his daughter, Karen Brock of Long Neck, DE; his grandchildren: Anthony, Andrew, Emily-Rose Brock, and Amanda Coffman (Ian); his sisters: Roberta Brock Verdun (Oscar), Marie Brock Rome (Johnny Errol), Della Brock, and Maria Brock Riche (Mark); his brothers: Curtis Joseph (Susan Brown), and Louis Jerome (Melissa Parker); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private burial will take place at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mr. Brock's memory to the Larry T. Brock Memorial Scholarship, LSU Foundation, 3796 Nicholson Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70802.
