Georgie Rae Cox's Obituary
Georgie Rae Cox, age 84 of Georgetown, DE, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA. She was born on August 14, 1934 in Shady Valley, TN, daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Harmon) Neil.
Mrs. Cox was a 50 year member of Fairwinds Baptist Church in Bear, DE. She loved collecting dolls and jewelry and enjoyed doing puzzles with her beloved husband, Edward. She loved her family and cherished her role of matriarch. Mrs. Cox was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Harold Cox in February; her son, Wallace Cox. She is survived by her sons: Paul Timothy Coldiron and his wife Susan of Elizabethtown, PA and Harold Cox and his fiancé Janie of Myrtle Beach, SC; her three daughters: Tammy Walls and her husband Michael of Georgetown, DE, Tammy Monfiletto and her husband Jason of Newark, DE, and Linda Haigh and her husband Joseph of New Castle, DE; her twelve grandchildren: Matthew Cox, Ryan Cox, Rebecca Cox, Mindy Goretzke, Katy Beth Miller, Caleb Coldiron, Paul Cox, Jason Haigh, Kristen Ferencsik, David Williams, Tori DiGiacoma, and Savannah Monfiletto; and her 20 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 21265 John J Williams Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow services at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Cox's memory to Oak Hill Fellowship Church, 902 Winter Hill Rd., Strasburg, PA 17579.
