George Paul Barti's Obituary
George P. Barti, age 85 of Milton, DE, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE after suffering a cardiac arrest.
He was born George Bartolomucci to Adam and Mary Bartolomucci on May 8, 1931 in the Bronx, NYC. During the Korean War, he served in the army in Alaska, where the greatest danger he faced was a 7.8 magnitude earthquake.
He worked days and went to school at night to earn a degree from Hofstra University. That turned into a 40-year financial career as V.P. of Operations for Xerox and Ricoh corporations. In 1975, he consulted for New York City to help it avoid bankruptcy.
He could operate an adding machine at blurring speed without looking at the keys. He was known for his level-headed advice and quick sense of humor. And, although not a gifted athlete, he never missed an opportunity to pitch for the little league team or hack it up on the golf course.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 57 years, Rosemarie, his daughter Elissa, his sons John and Michael and his five grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2016 at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 2:00 PM.
