Jarrettsville VFW 8672 member, when I was the post surgeon. RIP Comrade.
Gary was one of the nicest men I've known. He always greeted me with a smile and a compliment as to whatever I was doing. I loved to listen to his stories when he was on the police force always hearing pride in his voice. I loved listening to his jokes and his wittiest humor when he "told it like it was." I didn't see Betty and Gary as much when they moved to Delaware but whenever they came to the Post or I saw him at the Raven's Roost meetings, it was as though it was only yesterday. Like many others, knowing Gary has left a lasting imprint in my life and I will truly miss him, his humor, his wit, and his enlightening smile.
Gary always had a smile on his face when I would see him. Gary could always make you laugh no matter what the conversation was about! I think that is what I will miss the most about my brother inlaw, Gary.
Gary, you are truly missed!

He was a great man to talk to. He wanted to see me get district president when I ran.

I have so many memories of Gary and Betty. We attended conventions, meetings and so many VFW and Ravens Roost events. He was always there to give me a hug when I needed it. He had a big heart and a goofy smile. I will miss him terribly.

He always made my day coming for his haircut and color also highlights he always wanted to look amazing. I will miss his smiling face and jokes and having him at my 4th of July parties. RIP GARY LOVE YOU
