Frederick M. Starr's Obituary
Frederick M. Starr, age 66, of Lewes, DE passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015, at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, DE. He was born Wednesday, July 14, 1948 in Phillipsburg, NJ, son of the late John T. and May B. (Couch) Starr.
Mr. Starr proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed a long time career as an Electronics Supervisor for the Pharmaceutical industry. After retirement, Mr. Starr's favorite pastimes were saltwater fly fishing, creating his own fishing poles, camping and most importantly babysitting his grandchildren, who he adored.
Mr. Starr was a member of the Elks Lodge #2540 in Lewes, the American Legion Post #28 in Millsboro and the Saltwater Fly Rod Club. He regularly attended St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes, where he was a member.
Mr. Starr is survived by his loving wife Barbara J. (Roope) Starr of Lewes, DE; two sons, F. Michael Starr II and his wife Elyse of Milton; Nathaniel Starr and his wife Dilyara of Millsboro; one amazing daughter, Elizabeth Starr of Newark/Lewes; four grandchildren, Shawn Braxton; Justin Bradley; Natalie Catherine; Emmett Ray; one brother, John W. Starr and his wife Beverly of Milton and a sister, Deborah Fay of Virginia.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Friday, July 17, 2015 at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, where friends may call beginning at 10 AM.
