Fred S. Burton's Obituary
Fred S. Burton, age 71, of Harbeson, DE passed away at Beebe Healthcare on Thursday, January 26, 2017, with his loving family by his side. He was born on Saturday, November 3, 1945 in Lewes, DE, son of the late Samuel J. and Amelia A. (Dutton) Burton.
Mr. Burton graduated from Rehoboth High School, Class of 1963. He worked his lifelong career running dredges all over the country for American Marine and Machinery Company. Every chance he could get, Mr. Burton enjoyed going hunting and fishing. He also liked watching stock car racing with his family. Mr. Burton was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Burton was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Burton and his two sisters, Helen Nailor and Violet Simpson. He is survived by his two sons: Dan Burton and his girlfiend Bonnie Haines of Millsboro, DE; Jeff Burton and his wife Shannon of Millsboro, DE; his daughter, Susan Thompson and her husband Rob of Millsboro, DE; his six grandchildren: Tiffany Consolazio and her husband Tom, David Burton, Heather Burton, Ty Burton, Gavin Burton and Dodd Thompson; his brother, John S. Burton and his wife Joanne of Lewes, DE; his sisters, Charlotte McDaniel of Rehoboth Beach, DE; Betty Nailor and her husband Preston of Milford, DE and Ellen Lynch and her husband Richard of Lewes, DE; his longtime friend, Debbie Hannum; and his loving cat, Hermie.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow services at Epworth Cemetery in Rehoboth Beach, DE.
