Everett J. Beach's Obituary
Everett J Beach, age 89 of Lewes, Delaware passed away on Tuesday October 22, 2024, at Christiana Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born October 5, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late Everett and Ann (Cameron) Beach. He was the husband of Patricia Schilling Beach who preceded him in death in 2022 and brother to Lorraine Beach who preceded him in 2020.
He attended St. Boniface Roman Catholic School, Elmont, NY, Sewanhaka High School, Floral Park, NY, Hofstra College, Hempstead, NY and College of Aeronautics, Flushing, NY. Everett went on to serve 3 years active duty and 5 years inactive duty in the USMC and was discharged as a Sargeant in the Late 50's. He was a life member of the VFW, Post 7227, Rehoboth and the Marine Corp League, Diamond State Detachment and a Regular Member of the American Legion Post #28, Millsboro.
He was an active fourth-degree member of the Father Vincent P. Capodonna Assembly and third degree member of the Star of the Sea Council, Knights of Columbus. Everett held a First-Degree black belt in Judo, Kodokan College of Judo, Toyoko, Japan; a First-Degree black belt in American Karate and Kung Fu Association; a USMC High Expert with Rifle and Pistol with one award towards USMC Distinguished Rifle Marksmen. He was also a licensed Aircraft, Airframe and Power plant Mechanic.
Everett is survived by his 3 sons, Kenneth D. Beach (Cindy) of Wilmington, DE, Richard J. Beach (Ginny) of Greenville, SC and Edward R. Beach (Jason) of Oakland Park, FL, daughter, Jeanne M. McCloskey (Kevin) of Rock Hall, MD, 6 grandchildren Jamie McCloskey (Erin), Stephen McCloskey (Maggie), Lindsay Beach, Ryan Beach, Cameron Beach (Ambar) and Nicholas Beach (Keira) and two great-grandchildren, Madison McCloskey and Landon McCloskey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday October 29, 2024, at 11 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE where visitation will begin at 10 AM. Burial with military honors will follow at Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Lewes, DE.
