A sympathy card has been sent to the family of Eugene P. Cannon.
Dear Mrs. Cannon and family,
I just wanted to take a moment to let you know that it was an honor to serve your husband/father. Gene was a very gentle man and loved his family very much. It was always nice to see you Mrs. Cannon and not only will I miss Gene, but I will miss you as well. To Joe and Carrie, I know just what you are feeling with your loss. My Dad slept away in 2009. I was very close to him and can honestly tell you that there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him. They say that time heals all wounds, well I don't know about that. Please know that I am thinking of you. Mrs. Cannon, If there is anything I can do for you or the family please do not hesitate to call me. I would love to hear from you. And to Gene...you keep dancing. See you when I get there.
Love,
Karen =)
Marilyn and Family;
Our heartfelt sympathy on the passing of Uncle Gene. I recall the wonderful conversation we had about chasing around in the winter looking for white-winged crossbills and other winter finches. I remember the look of "I remember that well" on his face as he showed mom's (Ruth's) photo albums to your children at the 2003 Cannon Reunion. In heaven - there's a Euchre party going on somewhere and Albert Cannon is probably showing his kids a few tricks. Prayers - Tim & Joyce Haney and family.
Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and wonderful memories of my dad.
Mike, I would love to hear more stories. Your email address does not display, so if you would email me at [email protected] it would be greatly appreciated.
Marilyn,
Wish we could attend our thoughts and prayers are with you. Tihinking of you.

Marilyn and family -- So sorry to hear of your loss. I will remember Gene as the uncle who had a great sense of humor and an affectionate hug and that he shared both of these readily with family. Since he passed on the same day just 10 years later as our dad, his brother Jack, I picture the two of them together again, enjoying a beer and a laugh, and looking out for their loved ones that have not yet joined them. We are thinking of you.
Marilyn,
Our hearts and prayers are with you and your family.

Our prayers and thoughts are with the family and Eugene.
What a pleasant man. My first boss, when I graduated from college and came to work for the Navy. My Mother grew up in Portsmouth, Ohio so we had a connection from the start.
I was not easy to deal with as a young intern and Gene had a tremendous positve influence on my early career with the Navy. I needed some adult supervison and he was up to the task.
Please email me for some funny memories that I have of your Husband/Father.
Mike N.
